Plush All Over the Body Workshop, DIY Tofu Making

The Plush All Over the Body Workshop was one of the events of the exhibition Fictional Life: Hybridity, Transgenetics, Innovation. CHIANG Chun-Yi, who has a science, electrical engineering, and media arts background, served as its instructor. Starting with the commonly seen but not necessarily familiar food fermentation process, participants collected plants, vegetables, and fruits from C-LAB, then with yellow and black soybeans created tofu of different flavors. Using a Mucor strain for fermentation, mao or plush tofu was produced. During this workshop, the interdependent relationship between humans and microbes was introduced.
