The Race Is on! C-LAB Orienteering Family Day

Orienteering is an outdoor sport that requires the use of map and compass to complete a course. At checkpoints, cards are checked and stamped. There are many theories about its origins, one of which is that it started in Northern Europe and gradually developed into an outdoor activity suited to families, senior citizens, leisure, and education. It has also been listed as an Olympic sport. Called the sport for the wise, orienteering events are held in forests, in rural areas, on school campuses, and in parks. Using map and compass for orientation, a card must be completely stamped within a designated time period. Just like during a scavenger hunt, observational skills, intelligence, physical stamina, and the ability to respond quickly are required. In 2021, C-LAB invited people of all ages to experience orienteering in its park, which is as large as nearly 10 soccer fields.
