The Fringe Land of Milk and Honey in the South—Reviewing the Development of Independent Art Spaces in the 90s

Hong Kong-based Asia Art Archive (AAA) implements a three-year project entitled Independent Art Spaces of Taiwan. To reveal the potential openness of its research process and to activate discussions on the history of art spaces, AAA and C-LAB jointly held a number of activities for the public. During “The Fringe Land of Milk and Honey in the South—Reviewing the Development of Independent Art Spaces in the 90s” talk, CHEN Chun-Hsiung and HSU Yuan-Ta introduced the independent art spaces that emerged in southern Taiwan in the 1990s, providing an overview of the artistic experimental venues of that time and area of Taiwan.
