Sounds Great: Embroidered Speaker Workshop

Cross-media artist and craftsperson HUANG Wen-Chuan was invited to lead the workshop, during which traditional handmade paper from the paper mulberry tree served as the base material. The concept of paper as a carrier of messages was combined with the use of wires and audio amplifiers. When changes in the magnetic field cause disturbances in the air, sound is output. By arranging wires into patterns, participants tested the influence of artificial manipulation on the output of messages (sound) and created unique paper speakers.
