The Robotic Arm and 3D Printer as Actors

During C-LAB Future Media Arts Festival, three artists, HSU Chia-Wei, CHENG Hsien-Yu, and CHANG Ting-Tong, presented their co-created work Crystal Seeding in Art Space I. In cooperation with the Huwei Sugar Factory, and based on the theme of sucrose, they developed a theatrical installation comprised of puppet theater elements, experimental music, 3D printing technology, and a robotic arm. Different roles and events were used to explore the progress and complex social nature of the sugar industry, which led the first wave of modern industrialization in Taiwan.
