All New Ways to Play at C-LAB’s Circus Park

For the PLAY ARTS Festival—The Alchemy of Joy, the Taiwan Circus Gate team, made up of YANG Shih-Hao, WU Cheng-Tse, and PENG Wei-Han, invited the public to Circus Park. In the vast spaces of C-LAB, they created a “circus park” going beyond the conventional impressions of one. With the skills and props of professional circus performers, they subverted the methods and frameworks of play based on the existing facilities and equipment. In collaboration with visual installation artist Hang LI and inspired by the concepts of portable advertising signs, they brought together slogans and circus objects to stimulate the imagination of audiences through the use of visual association.
